17.3m Working height and 10.5m working outreach, all on a 3.5-tonne van. Need more payload, this unit is also available at 5-tonnes GVW.
The 3.5t market has been missing an essential product, and this platform fills that gap perfectly. It is the only light commercial vehicle capable of reaching heights of up to 17 meters.
With an optimised, high-performance steel arm that features a double extension and integrated cylinder, it provides maximum rigidity while minimising weight. Additionally, the hoses and cables are fully protected within the arm, ensuring greater durability and safety.
This model is ideal for street lighting and telecommunications, with the optional 5t model: increase, capacity and payload for an onboard workshop. The KL17P 17 m cherry picker with jib is the latest flagship of van-mounted cherry pickers.

The new flagship Van-Mounted Cherry Picker
This MEWP has a load cell system which measures the load in the basket. This switches between a safe working load of 120 kg and 250 kg. Its articulated jib and high-end components (ball bearings, low-friction pads) ensure precise, smooth, and flexible movements. Why 3.5t?
No Limits: If they can drive a standard LCV, they can drive this: no special licences required, no need to upskill your team, no weight limits on roads.
Why 5t?
More Payload: although a C1 license is required (3.5t–7.5t), you gain more payload for tools, a built-in workshop for the tool, and off-site work. Check out what’s possible with System Edström.
A-frame hydraulic stabilisers and fully electric controls are fitted to the basket. With a safe working load of 200 kg, the 17m cherry picker can hold up to 2 people with tools.
We install a plastic basket as standard, providing 1kV protection. This plastic structure supports a higher payload and reduces lifetime costs by 80% compared to fibreglass.
Cables and hoses on these van-mounts are enclosed within the telescopic articulated boom to provide protection. Locking valves are installed to prevent any uncontrolled movement of the boom in the event of a pipe failure. If the engine or main pump fails, functions are controlled by an independent electro-hydraulic pump.
